1st Shift Machine Operator

Job Summary:

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating milling equipment used to crumble cheese into smaller pieces for downstream packaging. This role supports production efficiency and product quality by ensuring proper handling of materials, adherence to food safety standards, and accurate ingredient usage.

Duties:

• Lift and load 25 lb blocks of cheese into the milling machine in a safe and consistent manner.
• Operate milling equipment to crumble cheese according to production specifications.
• Supply crumbled cheese to packaging attendants in a timely and efficient workflow.
• Identify and verify the correct type of cellulose to be used during the milling process.
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety guidelines.
• Monitor equipment performance and report any malfunctions or inconsistencies.
• Accurately complete production and quality documentation.

Qualifications:

• Experience in food production, preferably in the cheese industry
• Knowledge of CGMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
• Familiarity with packaging processes in a food processing environment
• Ability to operate a forklift is a plus
