Job Title:
Production Operator - 1st Shift Job Description The Production Operator on 1st shift sets up, operates, and monitors bagging, packaging, and spray drying equipment in a GMP-regulated environment. This role involves handling product from bagging through palletizing, maintaining consistent quality and safety standards, and working efficiently on a full-time schedule. The position requires comfort with physical work, including standing for extended periods, working at heights, and operating in confined spaces. Responsibilities Set up and operate various types of equipment used in the spray drying process according to established procedures and safety guidelines. Operate bagging and packaging machines to accurately bag product and prepare it for shipment. Palletize bagged product in a safe, organized, and efficient manner to support smooth warehouse and logistics operations. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant production environment. Read and follow written instructions, production records, and labels in English to ensure correct product handling and documentation. Stand for long periods while monitoring equipment and production lines to maintain consistent output and quality. Work safely in confined spaces and on elevated work platforms up to 30 feet above ground level as required by the production process. Assist with mixing and blending activities as needed to support production requirements. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas in accordance with GMP standards, including proper use of required protective clothing. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals, report issues, and support continuous improvement efforts. Work scheduled shifts, including weekends as needed, to meet production demands. Essential Skills At least 1 year of general production or machine operating experience. At least 1 year of experience working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) environment. Experience with mixing and blending processes in a production setting. Ability to set up and operate production machinery, including bagging and packaging equipment. Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time during the shift. Ability to work in confined spaces safely and comfortably. Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet on elevated work platforms. Ability to read and legibly write in English to follow instructions and complete documentation. High school diploma or equivalent education. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with general production workflows and machine operation in a manufacturing environment. Understanding of GMP requirements and hygiene standards in food or ingredient processing. Attention to detail when monitoring equipment, labeling product, and completing production records. Reliability and willingness to work scheduled weekends as needed. Ability to work effectively as part of a production team in a fast-paced environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role operates on 1st shift with standard hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Training hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The position is based in a GMP-regulated production facility working with soy and wheat products. The environment requires strict adherence to hygiene and safety standards, including wearing a hair net, beard net (if applicable), non-slip steel-toe shoes, smocks, and gloves. Work involves standing for extended periods, operating machinery, working in confined spaces, and performing tasks on elevated platforms up to 30 feet above ground, all within a structured and safety-focused manufacturing setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Big Bend, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
