Job Description

Join Rhodes as a full-time Mixer Operator on our 3rd Shift team and play a vital role in the production of high-quality baked goods. As the first step in our production process, the Mixer Operator ensures that every batch meets our exacting standards for consistency, taste, and safety. This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, enjoy hands-on work, and are committed to maintaining a smooth and efficient workflow. Responsibilities Read and interpret formula sheets and recipes to accurately scale and mix ingredients for dough, icings, and related products. Operate mechanical mixers, ensuring dough is mixed to specified temperatures and consistency according to product specifications. Take and submit dough samples from each batch for quality analysis. Maintain ingredient bins and ensure a steady supply for continuous production flow. Collaborate with Divider Operators and other team members to keep production running smoothly and on schedule. Record production data, including time, temperature, and lot numbers, using both paper and digital systems. Inspect dough and finished products for quality, removing any items that do not meet standards. Package products according to specifications, ensuring proper sealing, labeling, and presentation. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and sanitation guidelines to ensure food safety and a clean work environment. Participate in regular cleaning and maintenance of the work area and equipment. Support the training of new team members and contribute to a positive team culture. Communicate effectively with team leads and coworkers, and stay until properly relieved at the end of each shift. Be available for overtime as needed to meet production demands. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. At least one year of experience in a mixing and/or baking environment preferred. Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions in English. Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and understanding of fractions and decimals. Mechanical aptitude to operate and troubleshoot production equipment. Ability to use basic computer equipment, touch screens, and tablets for data entry. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and food safety. Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 55 pounds (occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance). Willingness to work overtime as required and support company initiatives for continuous improvement.
