Job Description

A Machine Operator for remanufacturing lumber plays a vital role in ensuring that wood products meet standards that are processed for further use. This role combines operating machinery for reshaping, cutting, and other finishing processes.
Remanufacturing Activities:
Operating various wood processing equipment, such as saws, planers, sanders, and other machines used for cutting, shaping, and finishing lumber. Reading and interpreting work orders, or other instructions to determine product specifications and machining parameters. Feeding materials into machines and removing finished or semi-finished products. Performing quality checks and inspections on products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Identifying and reporting any production problems, equipment malfunctions, or defects.
Maintenance and Safety:
Performing routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs of machines and equipment. Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and working with maintenance personnel to resolve issues. Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe and organized work environment. Wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
Documentation and Reporting:
Completing production reports and other required documentation. Reporting any issues regarding quality, or safety to supervisors. Qualifications and skills
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Mechanical Aptitude:
Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot machinery and equipment effectively. Experience with forklift operation may be required. Attention to
Detail:
Meticulous observation skills for monitoring machine performance, detecting deviations, and inspecting product quality.
Problem-Solving:
Ability to identify and resolve production problems and equipment malfunctions efficiently.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other personnel.
Physical Demands:
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.), and working in varying temperatures and noise levels.
Safety Consciousness:
A strong commitment to following safety protocols and regulations.
Pay:
From $15.00 per hour
