Job Title:
Chemist Operator Job Description The Chemist Operator will be responsible for producing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients using chemical reactors. This role requires following specific Batch Records to ensure the production of a consistent product. Responsibilities Handle various unit operations, such as reactions, filtration, distillation, drying, and milling, on raw materials and various stages of chemical processing according to written manufacturing procedures and SOPs. Follow and document instructions per batch sheet to produce products in accordance with all cGMP guidelines. Set up equipment, including vessels, tanks, centrifuges, and dryers, for proper processing. Clean and verify equipment and vessels. Record observations of operating conditions. Drive and operate a fork truck. Make work prioritization or timing decisions with supervisory oversight. Adjust utilities to maintain reaction parameters. Maintain process flow through the plant while adhering to all safety, GMP, and environmental regulations and standards. Essential Skills Experience in Chemical Operation or Batching, 1-5 years preferred. Knowledge of GMP guidelines from food, chemical, or pharmaceutical industries. Understanding of Analytical Chemistry and Chemical Operating. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma with experience, or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Sciences, preferably in Chemical Technology or Chemistry. Experience in GC and Batching processes. Work Environment The work environment is a clean laboratory and production setting. Initial training will be on the first shift for 3-6 months, after which the role will transition to a permanent shift from 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., following a 2-2-3 schedule, including working every other weekend. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grafton, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.50/hr.
