Laser Operator - Flexible Weekend Shift

Laser Operator K&S Manufacturing is a privately held, financially sound and growing company seeking a Laser Operator to join our team. This is a part-time position on shift of your choice, in a 100% air-conditioned facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

To ensure that product processed from the lasers meet the specifications of the customer and are prepared as needed for additional processes.

I. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, QUALIFICATIONS, AND BASIC SKILL LEVELS

• High School education or equivalent. 2-3 years experience running a laser in a production environment a plus.
• Strong industrial math skills and attention to details.
• Ability to learn tasks, and follow directions, including use of measurement equipment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Regular and predictable attendance required.
• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Successful completion of Pre-Employment physical.

II. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and adjust stand-alone laser as needed to cut single or multiple pieces from sheet.
• Remove cut product from sheet steel and sort for processing or finished goods inventory.
• Review shop orders, blueprints, and inspection records to determine process requirements.
• Examine and measure product to verify conformance to specifications using measurement equipment as specified on inspection records.
• Comply with policies, processes and systems of the ISO quality management system.
• Support the commitment to a safe work environment as stated in the safety vision and the safety manual.

Operator Qualifications Must have excellent problem solving skills. Ability to use height stand, caliper, micrometer, protractor, radius gauge, etc. Must have a solid working knowledge of blueprint reading and shop math. Possess a drive for achieving production, while focusing on safety and quality. Capable of working in a team environment. Ability to lift up to 50-pounds. Must be reliable, and have good attendance.
