General Production Worker - Mid Shift Job Description The General Production Worker supports safe and efficient manufacturing in a clean, climate-controlled facility that produces bio-based products such as ingredients for yogurt and animal feed. In this role, you assist with machine operation, perform manual cleaning during product changeovers, handle raw materials, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and accurately document production activities while working a steady mid-shift schedule. Responsibilities Perform manual cleaning of machines and equipment during product changeovers according to established procedures. Lift and load bags of raw materials weighing up to 50 pounds into hoppers and other processing equipment. Assist machine operators with running various production machines and support setup and basic adjustments as needed. Learn and follow all GMP requirements, including hygiene, documentation, and product handling standards. Follow chemical safety practices when handling sanitation chemicals and cleaning agents. Accurately complete documentation of production runs, including recording data and maintaining required logs. Support mixing and blending of powders or liquids in accordance with production specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support sanitation and safety standards. Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). Occasionally enter deep freezer areas as needed to support production activities, following all safety guidelines. Essential Skills At least 2 years of general production, machine operation, or similar manufacturing experience. Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a GMP-regulated environment. Experience with mixing and blending powders or liquids in a production setting. Previous experience safely handling chemicals used for sanitation and cleaning. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to read and write in English to follow written procedures and complete documentation. Basic mechanical aptitude to assist with machine operation and minor adjustments. Understanding of GMP, sanitation practices, and safe work procedures in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in general labor roles within a manufacturing or production environment. Background in machine operating, including assisting with setup and routine operation. Familiarity with chemical safety practices and PPE usage in a production or sanitation context. Comfort working in a moderate-paced environment with routine tasks and clear procedures. Willingness to learn additional machine setup and operation responsibilities for future growth. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role operates on a mid shift with a 7-on/7-off schedule: Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The facility is clean, GMP-compliant, and climate controlled, with a low-key atmosphere, no strong odors, and a moderate work pace. Team members occasionally enter a deep freezer area at approximately -55 degrees Celsius while following strict safety procedures. Required attire includes GMP-compliant personal protective equipment such as a hair net, beard net (if applicable), smock, steel-toe footwear, gloves, hard hat, and safety glasses. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
