Job Title:
General Production Worker - PM Shift Job Description This role supports a modern bio-solutions production facility by performing a wide range of hands-on tasks that keep manufacturing operations running safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). You will work closely with machine operators, handle raw materials, maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards, and accurately document production activities while following strict safety and chemical handling procedures. Responsibilities Manually clean production machines and equipment during product changeovers to maintain sanitation and prevent cross-contamination. Lift and load bags of raw materials weighing up to 50 pounds into hoppers and other processing equipment in a safe and controlled manner. Assist machine operators in running various types of production equipment, including setup, basic adjustments, and monitoring during operation. Learn and follow all GMP requirements, including hygiene, documentation, and process controls, to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance. Apply proper chemical safety practices when handling sanitation chemicals and cleaning agents according to established procedures. Perform mixing and blending of powders or liquids as required by production recipes and instructions. Complete accurate and timely documentation of production runs, including batch records, logs, and any required checklists. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including routine sanitation of equipment and surrounding workspaces. Monitor production processes for any irregularities and promptly report issues to the appropriate personnel. Support a moderate-paced production environment by following schedules, meeting productivity expectations, and collaborating with team members. Occasionally work in deep freezer areas at very low temperatures as needed for production tasks, while following all safety guidelines. Essential Skills At least 2 years of general production experience in a manufacturing or similar environment. At least 1 year of experience working under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Demonstrated experience with general production, machine operation, and general labor tasks. Ability to safely lift and handle up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Experience with sanitation procedures in a production environment. Experience with mixing and blending of powders or liquids in a manufacturing setting. Previous experience safely handling chemicals used for sanitation and cleaning. Ability to read and write in English to follow instructions and complete documentation accurately. Basic mechanical aptitude to assist with machine operation and troubleshoot minor issues. Comfort working in a moderate-paced production environment with consistent processes and routines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with operating or assisting on multiple types of production machines. Understanding of chemical safety practices and safe handling protocols for cleaning agents. Strong attention to detail when completing production documentation and following procedures. Reliability in adhering to a 2-2-3 PM shift schedule and working extended shifts. Willingness to work in climate-controlled environments, including occasional exposure to deep freezer conditions. Ability to follow detailed GMP, safety, and sanitation standards consistently. Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with operators and other production staff. Work Environment This position operates on a PM shift from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. following a 2-2-3 schedule, which provides regular extended breaks while maintaining consistent full-time work. The facility is clean, GMP-compliant, and climate controlled, with a low key atmosphere, no strong smells, and a moderate work pace. Team members occasionally enter deep freezer areas at approximately -55 degrees Celsius, using appropriate protective measures. The role requires adherence to GMP dress and hygiene standards, including wearing a hair net, beard net (as applicable), smock, steel-toe footwear, gloves, hard hat, and safety glasses at all times in designated production areas. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
