Machine Operator - 1st Shift 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars 1st Shift - Monday-Friday 7:00 am-3:00pm
Position Description:
This position is responsible for making fabricated parts for industrial silos and tanks used in the liquid waste industry. Equipment is both computer-controlled and mechanically based (shear, punch press, brake press, and saw). Check parts for defects and ensure quality workmanship is maintained. Use precision measuring tools to verify accuracy of work, inspects work for defects, and ensure parts are made to print. A steady hand, natural motivation, positive attitude/aptitude and an outstanding attention to detail are recommended.Responsibilities:
This position requires measuring and the ability to read and understand blueprints.Set up:
shear, punch press, brake press and saw operations to produce materials according to specifications and schedules. Safely operate equipment including material handling equipment and overhead cranes. Maintain and repair machinery and perform daily housekeeping. Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing gloves, protective eyewear, and safety shoes. Monitor machinery equipment for signs of wear or malfunction. Perform all other duties assigned.Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Good analytical and mathematical skills to interpret drawings, read and understand blueprints. Must be able to read gauges, tape measure, and other measurement tools. Strong mechanical aptitude. Previous brake press, shear, punch press, and saw experience desirable. Previous manufacturing experience. Outstanding attention to detail. Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Capability of understanding technical plans and drawings. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Maintain accurate work and good levels of concentration. Ability to work in a team environment and/or on an individual basis. Flexible and capable of successfully performing in a fast-paced environment.Similar remote jobs
