Job Description

Description The General Assembler is responsible for assembling foam parts and components according to specifications and work instructions. This role supports daily production operations by ensuring that foam products are accurately and efficiently put together, inspected, and prepared for shipment or further processing. The ideal candidate has good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and works well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. •2 total openings•Key Responsibilities Follows job order/blueprint instructions to cut material using saw machines. Selects appropriate material based off job order and limits amount of cut off waste. Use job order to determine dimensions, tolerances, type of blade used, blade tension, cutting speed, feed rate, table angle and positions of table and stop guides. Operates and adjusts machinery in a safe a precise manner. Continuously monitors machine to ensure proper operation. Uses tape measurer frequently and accurately. Record inventory usage in computer system. Includes type of material used, order number, customer number. Includes rejected material and/or improperly measured material. Other duties as assigned. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior machine operation experience in a manufacturing or foam fabrication environment is a plus. Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine functions. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commons fractions, and decimals. Ability to accurately use a tape measurer. Working knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting and components including motors, switches, fuses, relays, contacts, etc. Working knowledge of mechanical systems, troubleshooting and components including bearings, shafts, gears, drive belts and chains, conveyor belts and pulleys, etc. General knowledge of metal fabrication techniques including machining, cutting, forming, and welding. Strong attention to detail and quality control. Must be able to read and understand work instructions, safety rules, and machine settings in English. Bilingual (e.g., English/Spanish) is a plus for effective communication on a diverse team.
