Job Title:
Dairy Processing Operator Job Description The Dairy Processing Operator operates, monitors, and maintains sleeving and bottling equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality packaging of dairy products. This role follows strict production, sanitation, and safety procedures in a GMP environment while supporting overall departmental efficiency and product quality. Responsibilities Operate and clean sleeving and bottling machines according to established procedures. Monitor the sleeving process to ensure sleeves are correctly applied to bottles and address any issues with bottle flow or backups. Verify that date codes are accurate and appropriate for each production run. Communicate machine status, production issues, and unacceptable bottle quality to the supervisor or Plant Manager in a timely manner. Relieve other machine operators during machine downtime or job reassignment to maintain departmental efficiency and production quality. Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on machines immediately when issues arise. Report to the workstation on time and assist in setting up the work area for production. Wear proper work attire and personal protective equipment as required in a GMP environment. Perform all duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Sanitization Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP). Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards related to HACCP, FDA, EPA, OSHA, USDA, WDA, and customer requirements. Conduct all behavior and interactions in compliance with company policies and procedures. Make necessary adjustments to sleeving and packaging machines to ensure packaging is completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards. Support general production activities as needed, including working with filling and packaging machines. Perform additional duties as assigned to support production and plant operations. Essential Skills At least 2+ years of machine operating experience in a production environment. Experience operating packaging, sleeving, bottling, or filling machines. Prior work experience in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) environment, or strong familiarity with GMP standards. Ability to follow detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Sanitization Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP). Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on production machinery. Strong attention to detail to ensure correct date coding and consistent packaging quality. Ability to work safely and maintain compliance with HACCP, FDA, EPA, OSHA, USDA, WDA, and customer requirements. Effective communication skills to report machine status, quality issues, and production concerns. Reliability in attendance and punctuality, including reporting to the workstation on time. Additional Skills & Qualifications GMP experience preferred, including working in food or beverage production environments. Experience with general production processes, including setup and operation of packaging equipment. Familiarity with sleeving and bottling lines and making machine adjustments for optimal performance. Ability to work collaboratively with other machine operators and production staff to maintain departmental efficiency. Comfort working in a structured, policy-driven environment with clear quality and safety standards. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role operates in a GMP-regulated dairy production facility with a strong focus on food safety, sanitation, and quality. The position offers openings on 1st shift (4:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday) and 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday). Work is performed around sleeving, bottling, and packaging machinery in a fast-paced production setting. Employees follow GMP requirements and wear appropriate attire, including hair nets, beard nets (as applicable), smocks, and steel-toe footwear. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
