Job Description

Amalga Job Description Position:
Entry Level Winder Machine Operator Starting Salary:
$19.00 with raises after 3 and 6 months.
Duties:
Machine operator position requiring some mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting, roll changes, and an understanding of the winder. Set up and operate several production machine tools where tooling, setup detail and operating procedures are standardized and obvious - or operate and maintain setups on special purpose machines. Ensures the process is set as per the wind schedule or within the acceptable range defined by process to ensure a quality product. Generally close tolerance work where dimensional and finish requirements are not difficult to maintain due to the nature of the tooling and machine setups. Work is usually repetitive and subject to in-process inspections. Instructions and supervision given on assignments and set ups may be checked.
Minimum Education or Certificate Requirement:
High School diploma or G.E.D.
Required Skills:
Reading, writing, basic math, ability to carry up to 50 pounds, ability to stand at machine for full shift. Ability to use measuring equipment including a tape measure. Push and pull heavy carts.
Training:
On-the-job training. Use of overhead cranes and ovens.
