Orthopaedic Technician 2.2 2.2 out of 5 stars 4517 Southlake Parkway, Hoover, AL 35244 Full-time Southlake Orthopaedics 13 reviews Full-time Southlake Orthopaedics has an opening for a full-time Orthopaedic Technician to work at our busy and very fast paced orthopaedic clinics in Hoover and Grandview. As a Southlake Orthopaedics Orthopaedic Technician, you will provide assistance with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician or advanced practice provider. Job Summary Patient care responsibilities as assigned, which may include scheduling and organizing patient flow, accompanying patients to exam/procedure room, assist patients with changing to exam gowns, and transfer to exam table if needed Assess patient's general condition and collect patient history Document health history, activities, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record Provide basic patient care as ordered by physician and assist physician with various procedures Provides patient education materials, communicates physician advice/instructions to patient Cast and splint application and removal Fit patients with braces, boots, other DME as ordered by physician Wound dressing changes Prepare injections Suture and staple removal Sterile tray set-ups Obtain lab/x-ray reports Schedule surgery, hospital procedures and pre- and post-op appointments Schedule MRI, CT scans, labs, etc. Schedule referrals to other physicians Perform ECG studies Clean and stock exam rooms Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies Qualifications and Skills High school diploma or equivalent Prior experience in an orthopaedic clinic preferred LPN, CMA, CST or equivalent experience preferred Orthopaedic Technician or EMT license preferred Ability to work independently Excellent organizational skills Ability to multi task As a member of the Southlake team you can expect: Generous Paid Time Off based on years of service Health & Welfare benefits starting the first of the month following your date of hire: BCBS Medical Dental Vision Company paid Life Insurance Voluntary Life, Accident, Cancer, and Critical Illness coverage Employee Assistance Program 401(k) plan after one year of employment Referral Bonus program Monday - Friday schedule for most roles Please note: If you are viewing this position on an external job board (such as Indeed, LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, etc.), unless specifically stated in the posting, the provided salary estimates may not be accurate as they are not provided by Southlake Orthopaedics.
