Job Description

REG ORTHO TECH
Position Description Position Summary:
Assists orthopedic physicians in minor procedures such as Cortisone or Hyalgan injections and applies or removes casts and splints. Conduct preliminary examinations of patients in order to document their issues, review their medical history, and obtain their vitals. Provides support to physicians and specialists by reviewing x-rays and other scans for fractures or injuries. Also, it maintains orthopedic supplies to ensure accessibility and reliability.
Critical Tasks:
Prepares and assists in the administration of Cortisone or Hyalgan injections and minor procedures. Applies and removes casts and splits as needed. Reviews cast and splint care and precautions with patients after application. Conducts preliminary examination of patients by obtaining their chief complaints, medical history, and vitals. Reviews x-rays and other scans for fractures or injury with orthopedic providers and medical staff. Reviews and completes patient referrals for specialized care. Maintains orthopedic supplies such as cast saws, cast tape, cast padding, and splinting material to ensure availability and readiness for casting and splinting application and removal procedures. Ensures maximum efficiency of team by coordinating with the team Providers and Nurses to create timely appointments for patients. Addresses patient's complaints and concerns rapidly to ensure efficient delivery of care and optimal patient satisfaction. Performs other job-related activities as requested.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. Vocational program in medical assisting, surgical technology, or radiology technology required. American Society of Orthopedic Professionals Certification required. 1 year of experience working in an Orthopedic setting preferred. Current and continuing BLS training and certifications. AZ Department of Public Safety Fingerprint clearance Care required. Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
