Position Overview:
The Operator I role is responsible for the production of high-quality medical devices within a cleanroom and manufacturing environment. This position works under close supervision and performs a combination of assembly, repair, and testing operations on medical devices, including catheters, pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), and related components.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform assembly, repair, and testing of medical devices under close supervision
  • Follow standardized procedures to complete routine production tasks
  • Maintain strict compliance with quality standards and FDA regulations
  • Accurately complete written and electronic documentation to ensure traceability
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding issues, ideas, and solutions
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude with internal and external stakeholders
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and cleanroom protocols
  • Read, understand, and follow written procedures and verbal instructions
  • Handle and assemble small components using a microscope
  • Perform repetitive tasks such as grabbing, pinching, pulling, and twisting
  • Sit or stand for extended periods as required
Preferred Experience:
  • Manual assembly of medical devices
  • Working under a microscope for extended periods
  • Hand soldering
  • Experience in a cleanroom environment
  • Maintaining accurate production documentation (written and electronic)
Work Environment:
  • Cleanroom and controlled manufacturing environment
  • Work is closely monitored and reviewed for quality and compliance
  • Requires attention to detail and adherence to strict procedures
Dress Code Requirements:
  • Due to cleanroom and FDA-regulated standards, employees must follow strict dress code guidelines:
  • Clothing must be non-shedding, clean, and free of loose fibers or contaminants
  • No glitter, sequins, tassels, fringes, or loose threads
  • Clothing must fully fit under lab coats/gowns
  • No loose-knit, fleece, or fiber-shedding garments
  • Arms, legs, and torso must be fully covered
  • No sleeveless tops, short shirts, or above-ankle pants/skirts
  • Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes required (heel height < 2 inches)
  • No sandals, clogs, slippers, or open footwear
  • Socks or stockings must be worn at all times
  • No nail polish, artificial nails, or makeup
  • No jewelry or piercings that interfere with PPE
  • No scented products (except deodorant)
  • Hair coverings must comply with cleanroom standards
  • Any wounds must be properly covered
