Job Summary Summary Under the supervision, provides specialized support in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of orthopedic conditions. Assists in the application of casts, braces, splints, and other orthopedic devices, and may also assist in surgical procedures. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions Set up and apply traction in accordance with standard procedures and instructions. Assist with the application of casts, braces, and prostheses. Requisition, store, and dispense supplies as directed. Inspect and maintain orthopedic equipment. Instruct selected patients in cast care, simple exercises, and crutch or cane use. Apply sterile and non-sterile dressings. Make splints, slings and foot pieces. May make rounds with doctors of all orthopedic patients and carry out instructions. Cut and fashion devices from metal, plastic, leather and wood using equipment and hand tools. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Basic Life Support [BLS Certification]- Data Conversion
