Job Title:
Clean Room Medical Device Assembler - Catheters Job Description This role involves working in a clean room environment to assemble and package a variety of French catheters used in medical applications. You will perform detailed manual and microscope-assisted assembly, follow precise work instructions, and help ensure each product meets strict quality and inspection standards. The position is a contract role through the end of August 2026, with the possibility of extension based on business needs. Responsibilities Assemble a variety of French catheters in a clean room environment using established work instructions and procedures. Perform basic and complex catheter assembly, including stringing catheters, braiding, stretching, pulling, reflow processes, and multi-stage builds with up to 17 steps. Use small hand tools, tweezers, cutters, pliers, and microscopes to complete precise medical device assemblies and guidewire-related tasks. Conduct visual inspections, including microscope inspection, to verify product quality, identify defects, and ensure compliance with specifications. Carry out final packaging and packing of medical devices, following clean room assembly and packaging standards. Follow all clean room gowning requirements, including wearing smocks, hair nets, glasses, and other protective attire as required. Adhere to written work instructions and general production guidelines to maintain consistent product quality and output. Maintain high levels of hand dexterity and manual precision while performing repetitive assembly tasks that may initially cause hand soreness. Work across multiple product lines and flex between different assemblies as business needs change, demonstrating a willingness to learn all areas of production. Collaborate effectively in a team environment to meet production goals, support colleagues, and contribute to a positive work culture. Use basic computer skills to access work instructions, record production or inspection data, and complete other job-related documentation. Comply with all company policies, clean room protocols, quality standards, and safety requirements, including signing required documentation prior to starting. Essential Skills At least 6 months of medical assembly experience, preferably with catheter assemblies. At least 6 months of experience using a microscope for assembly or inspection tasks. At least 6 months of experience using basic hand tools such as tweezers, cutters, and pliers in a production or assembly environment. Demonstrated hand dexterity and ability to perform fine, repetitive manual assembly work. Ability and willingness to learn new tasks and be cross-trained across multiple product lines and assembly areas. Basic computer skills to navigate work instructions and enter production or inspection information. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with coworkers and leads. Comfort working in a clean room environment and following strict gowning, cleanliness, and procedural requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in medical device assembly, clean room assembly, or catheter/guidewire assembly is highly beneficial. Experience with microscope assembly and visual inspection in a regulated environment. Familiarity with following detailed work instructions and quality procedures in a production setting. Strong attention to detail and quality mindset when handling medical devices. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, product lines, and production needs. Reliability and consistency in attendance and performance in a fast-growing operation. Willingness to sign required documentation prior to starting, in accordance with company policies. Work Environment You will work in a full clean room environment that is well lit, temperature controlled, and designed for precision medical device manufacturing. The facility is expanding, offering a modern and evolving production space. Clean room protocols require full gowning, including smocks, hair nets, glasses, and other protective attire to maintain strict cleanliness standards. The role involves frequent use of microscopes, small hand tools, and medical assembly equipment in a general production and packaging setting. This is a first-shift position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 4:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime work schedule in a structured, process-driven environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Maplewood, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
