What a successful day looks like You arrive for second shift (2:30pm-10:30pm, Monday-Friday), review the job travelers, and set up your punch press. You fine-tune machine parameters to meet the blueprint, run first-piece inspection with basic gauges, then move into steady production—loading and unloading sheet or coil efficiently, checking features, and keeping the cell organized and safe. If you spot anything off, you pause, document, and partner with your supervisor to resolve it. When a line next door needs a hand, you jump in to keep orders flowing. Your core impact Operate punch press equipment to cut, form, and shape metal components to specification. Load and unload materials; stage parts for downstream operations. Adjust machine settings to hold tolerances per prints and work instructions. Inspect parts with basic measuring tools to verify quality and accuracy. Maintain a clean, well-organized workstation and follow 5S practices. Adhere to safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times. Report mechanical issues or irregularities to your supervisor promptly. Assist with additional production tasks as needed to meet schedule. What you bring High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 12 months in metal stamping, punch press, or comparable CNC operation. Ability to stand for the shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
