Conducts analysis, testing, and experimentation to support data-driven decisions and enhance efficiency, quality, and performance. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, implement solutions, and ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational objectives Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Develop formulations and processing procedures for sauces, soups and dry mixes. Develop and test new products for flavor, texture, color, nutritional content, and adherence to government and industry standards. Check raw ingredients for maturity or stability for processing, and finished products for safety, quality and nutritional value. Evaluate food processing and storage operations and assist in the development of quality assurance programs for such operations. Study methods to improve aspects of foods such as chemical composition, flavor, color texture, nutritional value, and convenience. Study the structure and composition of food, or the changes foods undergo in storage and processing. Develop new or improved ways of preserving, processing, packaging, storing, and delivering foods. Record and compile test results. Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment. Comply and assist with all food regulation programs - USDE, HACCP, GLP, FDA. Cross-Training between plants may require driving to all locations. Follow all plant safety rules and regulations. Follow plant no jewelry policy. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Bachelor's degree in food science or other related scientific discipline(s). Proven experience and success working on projects related to concept development through commercialization. Previous experience on sauces, soups and dry mixes desired. Must understand inventory methods. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, including electronically. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
