Full Job Description Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Injection Molding Technician responsible for the startup, installation, removal, and troubleshooting of complex plastic injection molds. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high-quality production, maximizing efficiency, and meeting production deadlines. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with injection molding machinery, a strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to identify and resolve processing issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform injection molding machine setup across multiple machine types, ensuring production of parts that meet strict quality standards Verify conformance to specifications using work instructions, tolerance deviations, and part prints Set up and troubleshoot robotics, pickers, and end-of-arm tooling Conduct first article inspections and validate part accuracy Monitor machine parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle times) to ensure consistent production performance Perform in-machine preventive maintenance on molds, including cleaning and lubrication per established protocols Utilize precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, plug gauges, scales) to verify product tolerances Respond to machine alarms, clear runners, and resolve stuck-part and processing issues Adjust molding parameters within defined tolerances to maintain quality and optimize output Diagnose root causes of molding defects and implement corrective actions Collaborate closely with Quality and Engineering teams to address non-conforming material and improve processes Perform routine machine and mold preventative maintenance Train and mentor junior technicians on mold setups, machine startups, and troubleshooting techniques as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance or related work involving tools and machinery used in plastic injection molding Hands-on experience operating injection molding machines and related equipment Bilingual preferred; ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to follow procedures and specifications Strong understanding of machine operation, tooling, and maintenance practices Experience with auxiliary equipment such as chillers, thermolators (temperature controllers), hot runner systems, and valve gate controllers Ability to calculate ratios, unit conversions, and surface area dimensions for machine tonnage settings Basic computer skills with ability to navigate databases, review procedures, and analyze data
Pay:
$27.50 - $35.00 per hour
