Grinder - 1st Shift Job Description This role focuses on grinding and deburring small parts in a manufacturing environment, with an emphasis on precision and quality. Experience in aerospace manufacturing is ideal, as you will work with small components that require careful handling and attention to detail. You will use small grinders, hand tools, and power tools to finish parts, and you will support various production tasks as needed. Responsibilities Perform grinding and deburring of small parts using small grinders and other appropriate tools. Use hand tools and power tools to remove burrs and achieve required finishes on metal components. Clean parts and work areas using rags, tape, and other approved materials to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Rotate into various production roles as needed to support overall manufacturing operations. Apply basic machine operator skills when assisting with different stages of the production process. Follow written and verbal instructions to meet quality standards and production deadlines. Inspect parts visually to ensure they meet required specifications after grinding and deburring. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any issues promptly. Adhere to all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment at all times. Essential Skills Experience using hand tools for grinding and deburring. Proficiency with small grinders and related grinding equipment. Ability to use power tools safely and effectively in a manufacturing setting. Basic machine operator experience, with the ability to move into various production roles. Willingness to learn, take direction, and participate in training. Open-minded attitude toward cross-training and developing new skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in aerospace manufacturing or a similar precision manufacturing environment is ideal. Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic in a production or shop setting. Ability to work collaboratively with a small team and support different tasks as needed. Why Work Here? Steel toe boots are required as part of the dress code, and appropriate personal protective equipment will be used to maintain a safe and professional work environment Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrance, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
