Molding Technician - 2nd shift ICU Medical, Inc. - 3.1 Southington, CT Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Manufacturing Manufacturing company experience Full Job Description Position Summary The Molding Technician is responsible for basic and advanced equipment and process set-up, changeovers, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and basic repair and rebuild. Equipment includes Injection Molding Machines and associated ancillary equipment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform machine/mold safety checks; perform mold changeovers. Perform cycle checks, adjust business plan and prioritize workload according to business needs. Make accurate process adjustments to alleviate non-conforming parts. Perform mold start-up/QC Inspection; set up gages to perform QC checks. Carry out basic cleaning of molds; complete preventive maintenance. Utilize MVP in relation to PM tasks. Maintain 5S standards in assigned work areas. Assist in the training of new Technicians. Assist Operators as required. Process material changeovers - fill barrels, mix materials and ensure traceability. Execute basic functions of the Shibaura Injectvisor operator controller - load programs and process adjustments. Perform other related duties as assigned or required. This position is required to assure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including knowledge of all standards, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statutes related to the site). Engage others, promote and participate in Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives, focusing on continuous improvement. Knowledge & Skills Strong mechanical ability and analytical skills. Sound judgment in the execution of technical/troubleshooting issues. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills to facilitate communication at various levels and areas within the organization. Understanding of computers and computerized controls. Ability to learn new technologies; understand and perform continuous improvement activities. Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Diploma, or GED required. Technical school background desirable. Up to 3 years of manufacturing experience. Previous experience with plastic injection molding equipment desirable. Work Environment Work involves use of manufacturing equipment or close proximity to equipment. May be exposed to biohazards and/or chemicals. Work environment can range from clean room and proper gowning requirements to a production area that is open, potentially noisy, and with moving equipment. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. and push/pull up to 80 lbs. Recurring physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, crouching, climbing, bilateral motion involving hands, wrists, and upper body. Concentrated visual attention to perform checks on products and components.
