WHAT SLITTER OPERATORS GET TO DO
Set up and run slitters to efficiency, quality and waste specifications. Input data in MPR II system. Maintain visual workplace standards. Assist in roll packing, rewind and lead wrap areas. Duties also include but are not limited to;
Key Responsibilities:
Understand and implement safety aspects of machinery, including MMI guarding, light curtains, and e-stops. Follow customer specifications such as print specs, packing specs, SAP specs, and run conditions. Complete quality tests for each customer as listed in AIMS frequency and ensure 100% compliance. Complete e'SOC daily for each order processed, ensuring 100% compliance. Achieve daily performance goals by adhering to schedule compliance in safety, quality, and productivity. Operate hoists/cranes to move large master rolls weighing up to 2,000 lbs safely. Properly use measuring tools such as measuring tapes, rulers, and lab equipment. Demonstrate knowledge of OPRP (Operational Prerequisite Program-Trim Event) to identify, prevent, and eliminate issues. Follow PPE policy compliance, especially the Glove Exception policy. Complete line clearance, make-readies, and changeovers in a timely manner. Handle blades (razor/shear blades) safely and efficiently. Complete required paperwork, including Visual Check sheets and Run Condition Sheets. Ensure the production of quality products by troubleshooting and making adjustments as needed. Perform cleanups, changeovers, etc., safely and efficiently. Flag defects, provide upstream feedback, and remove defects. Operate hoists and pallet jacks safely and efficiently. Actively participate in EHS and DLM activities (Tier 1 ownership). Maintain a clean work area through daily 5S housekeeping and adherence to the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
Prior slitter operator experience preferred (John Dusenbery, Catbridge, Deacro, or equivalent). Ability to run or learn to run the line independently, troubleshoot issues, and be self-sufficient in start-up and shut-down processes. Previous manufacturing experience Knowledgeable and able to understand a computer and programs Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good organizational and interpersonal skills Ability to interact effectively and professionally with others in a team environment Ability to read measurements as described per specification. Communicate effectively in English and operate a PC at a basic level.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 50-60 lbs Willing and able to stand and walk for an 8/12 hour shift Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting Frequent use of wrist and hands Frequent stepping up and down from platforms Reasonable accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis
