Job Description

Injection Molding Technician - Third Shift $5,000 Sign‑On Bonus Position Summary The Injection Molding Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining injection molding equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality production. This role supports mold changes, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts within a climate‑controlled manufacturing environment. Shift Information Third Shift 12 AM-8AM Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Set up injection molding machines according to production requirements, ensuring correct parameters for each part.
  • Install molds, dies, and related tooling; ensure workstation is clean, organized, and producing quality parts with minimal downtime.
  • Clear production lines of previous materials, tools, and documentation before starting new jobs.
  • Perform scheduled and as‑needed mold cleaning to maintain optimal performance.
  • Conduct routine repairs and preventative maintenance on molding and auxiliary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor molding issues such as short shots, flash, burns, and other non‑conformances.
  • Set up and operate molding machinery, automation, and support equipment.
  • Adjust, maintain, and troubleshoot automated systems to maximize uptime.
  • Work closely with setup technicians, operators, and plant leadership to ensure proper equipment operation and stop production when quality concerns arise.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time, including spare‑parts usage for inventory tracking.
  • Follow setup sheets, document any changes, and provide improvement suggestions to Process Engineers.
  • Train new and current technicians to increase machine and process knowledge.
  • Maintain strong housekeeping and organization on the production floor.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company policies. Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a plastic injection molding environment preferred.
  • Experience with basic troubleshooting and processing of molding and automation equipment.
  • Exposure to scientific molding principles preferred.
  • Understanding of molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and basic repair practices preferred.
  • Familiarity with robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and/or electrical systems (relay and solid‑state).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Familiarity with robotic systems.
  • Understanding of OSHA requirements (Lockout/Tagout, forklift safety).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends.
  • Must provide basic personal tools (Allen wrenches, socket sets, etc.). Physical Requirements
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for a full manufacturing shift.
  • Ability to reach overhead or with extended arms; excellent hand dexterity.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, and perform similar physical activities.
  • Ability to safely operate all required equipment.
