Job Description
Summary Core Machine Operators are responsible for operating hand-controlled mechanisms to produce sane cores for Foundry operations. Description Set up, operate, and monitor machines that produce sand cores for Foundry operations. Regulate the flow of material into molds and forms to produce cores, using hand-controlled mechanisms. Read temperature gauges and observe color changes, adjusting furnace flames, torches, or electrical heating units as necessary to melt metal to specifications. Observe continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect jams or malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary. Remove finished or cured products from molds, using hand tools, air hoses, and other equipment, stamping identifying information on products when necessary. Examine molds to ensure they are clean, smooth, and properly coated.
