Job Description

Printpack Bloomington is looking for candidates to fill a night shift Slitter Operator position. An ideal applicant is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. Good attendance is a must.   • Paid Parental Leave The Slitter Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, quality production, general adjustments of the machine and general operational maintenance.
This position will work a 12 hour night shift (7PM-7AM) on Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs nights for a total of 48 hours a week. Pay for this position will be $21.77 with an additional $2.50 premium for all hours worked between 7 PM and 7 AM.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate slitter in order to: Ensure safety Perform to quality, waste, and production standards and goals Meet or exceed the customers' (both internal and external) expectations Meet the highest of quality standards Communicate orally and/or in writing to other departments for resolution of mechanical problems, reporting defective material, coordination of job preparations, changeovers and daily shift information Input production data to a computer accurately and timely to include waste, WIP, time codes, raw materials, etc. Ensure your own safety while operating the machine and that of those assisting with operations Prepare master rolls for slitting Place rolls in machine and prepare for splicing Properly segregate and label all materials (as appropriate)
  • for work in process, rewinds, trash, and hold) Assist in removing rolls from rewind (as necessary) Remove and weigh startup rolls/materials at beginning of job Perform daily housekeeping duties to keep area clean and organized during setup, run and end of shift Remove and weigh all waste.
Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older Stable work history
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong time management skills and ability to follow instructions Must be able to demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot problems Must have the ability to accurately read a tape measure Manufacturing/machine operation experience
Physical Demands:
Lifting up to 50 pounds Must be able to climb, kneel, bend, squat Must be able to grasp, push, pull and have fine motor skills Must be able to stand for extended periods of time Ability to wear PPE including but not limited to hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses Printpack is proudly an equal-opportunity employer.
