Job Description

Job Description This is a full-time operations position responsible for safely and efficiently operating slitter with the ability to perform quality control of all orders. Employee should be independently motivated with the ability to take on tasks without immediate direction and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You also may be assigned to work in any area of the plant as needed. Responsibilities Operate slitting line including proper set-up of arbors, over-arm, etc. and input coil length and piece counts information into a spreadsheet Maintain all aspects of product quality, including selection and appearance of the material, dimensional tolerance, weight, and piece count Assist with handling quality issues Communicate with other areas on changes to scheduling, processing, etc Report machine malfunctions and assist with maintenance of equipment as needed Operate forklift, packaging equipment, and all warehouse equipment, as needed, in a safe and reliable manner Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping, and adhering to safety guidelines Wear all proper PPE as required: Safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. Assist in all areas of the plant as needed Maintain a clean work area, including sweeping, emptying trash, etc. Qualifications Good work ethic, team player with a positive attitude Previous forklift experience is preferred Must be able to work outside normal business hours as needed Basic computer skills such as data entry and retrieval Work in both hot and cold atmospheres depending on weather conditions Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Strong task and time management skills Willing to take directions from manager and others Follow company rules, procedures, and safety policies Operate assigned equipment in a safe, effective, and efficient manner Willing to take on new tasks and learn new skills Strong attention to detail Math skills are a plus Benefits Major medical, dental, STD insurance, life insurance, annual health savings account contribution. 100% of insurance premiums sponsored by the employer.
