A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CNC MACHINIST
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models.
- Set up CNC machines, including selecting and installing tooling and fixates.
- Write and modify CNC programs to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor the machining process and adjust as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure they meet specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC machines and production processes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in CNC machining or a related field is preferred. Must be able to set-up and program
- Experience with CNC machine operation and programming, Mazak Lathes experience a plus.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with G-code and Master Cam.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing Knowledge.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50lbs) as necessary.
- Prolonged periods standing and working with machinery.
- Good vision, and strong attention to detail.
