Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:
Checking work order, properly select processed material checking for weight, alloy, size and quality. Operate power driven slitter to slit coils into one or more strands. In process inspect of material to ensure proper quality is maintained. Set-up and adjust slitter tooling to ensure dimensional tolerances are met. Run material according to specifications of work order. Check slit strands to ensure customer quality requirements are met. Properly identify all slit material and complete all documentation. May require the repair of minor mechanical problems. Group completed product together by work order in designated area. Maintain work area in a clean and neat fashion. Math aptitude/setup calculations testing Follow ALL safety protocols for the company Expected to be able to handle tasks/cross-train to help the company meet its goals.
Required Education and Experience:
Education and/or experience - High School degree or equivalent preferred. Prior experience or training in a related field or manufacturing environment preferred. Math - Must be able to use and understand simple mathematics, using addition, subtraction, fractions and decimals. Knowledge of the Standard/Imperial measuring system is required, and knowledge of the metric system is a plus. Understanding and use of basic measuring instruments required; micrometers, digital calipers, tape measure is preferred.

Stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel, reach with hands and arms, frequently above shoulders, climb steps and/or balance, and walk and/or hear. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
