Job Description:
CASTING TECHNICIAN
(SMED) - 3rd SHIFT Join a skilled manufacturing team where your technical expertise directly impacts product quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. As a Production Technician on our SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die) Team, you'll play a key role in fast, accurate die-cast changeovers and continuous improvement in a safety-focused environment. This is a hands-on, hourly, non-exempt position ideal for experienced casting or setup technicians who enjoy problem-solving, teamwork, and developing others. What You'll Do Perform safe and efficient casting die and trim press setups, changeovers, and sleeve changes Troubleshoot and analyze die issues in collaboration with Tool Room, Maintenance, and Process Engineering teams Complete minor and major die repairs to maintain production efficiency Ensure accurate completion of all required documentation, including First Part Approvals Support daily production flow by performing floor work and minimizing downtime Train and mentor Set-Up Technicians and press team members on standardized, safe work practices Assist press teams as needed, including coverage for breaks and lunches Work overtime and weekends as business needs require Maintain regular, reliable attendance and meet physical and environmental job requirements What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED required Minimum of 1 year of related experience as a SMED Technician Working knowledge of manufacturing and database software Ability to read, understand, and follow standardized work instructions Successful completion of SMED training and Standard Work courses (or ability to complete upon hire) Strong attention to detail, safety, and teamwork Applicants must be authorized to work for an employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time .
