Job Description As a Rubber Pressman Operator in an industrial plant with a focus on plastic injection molding, you manage seven machines, ensuring they run efficiently. Your responsibilities include operating machinery, handling materials, resetting alarms, and performing manual tasks like reaming and trimming with precision. Attention to detail is crucial as you conduct color testing and inspect production to guarantee 100% quality. Safety is a priority, and you engage in tasks ranging from driving a forklift to changing propane fuel tanks. Additionally, you maintain a clean work area, adhere to proper safety measures, and communicate effectively with team members regarding any issues. Your role involves various duties, reflecting adaptability and a commitment to departmental and plant operations. Requirements 1. In an industrial plant, operate and run all plastic injection molding machines (currently 7 machines). Requires standing, bending, lifting. Floors are concrete and need ability to walk on slippery surface. 2. Run correct material and color concentrate on each job. 3. Reset injection molding machine or auxiliary equipment alarms. 4. Perform reaming and trimming functions by hand (using a razor knife) at a rate that keeps pace with machine. Requires excellent eye/hand coordination and hand/wrist dexterity. 5. Put different inserts into wheels using a manual inserter. 6. Use proper safety precautions while operating or working on machinery. 7. Inspect production and be sure customer receives 100% good product. Inspection includes color testing by eye. 8. Label all production with employee number. 9. Run Inspection Conveyor. 10. Sort and pack product into boxes. 11. Take runners (plastic waste) and regrind for reuse. 12. Drive a forklift truck. 13. Change a forklift truck propane fuel tank. 14. Make boxes and covers (using air staple gun). 15. Notify (1) an operator and (2) Frank or Ted of problems with a machine, product or quality in a timely manner. 16. Complete necessary operation and production records as required. 17. Keep work area clean. 18. Perform any other duties that may be assigned. 19. Perform all duties consistent with department and plant operations. 20. Must be able to pass a written Molder's test, after training period.
