Job Title:
Slitter Operator Job Description The Slitter Operator supports a busy metals processing facility by preparing and slitting metal coils to precise customer specifications. This role works on a small, high-output production floor, handling coils, operating forklifts and simple machines, and ensuring accurate documentation and safe material flow throughout the plant. Essential Skills At least 1 year of forklift operation experience (stand-up or sit-down). Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure to make precise cuts on coils and sheet metal. At least 1 year of experience working in an industrial environment such as manufacturing, warehouse, or production. Experience with basic machine operation in a production or warehouse setting. Ability to perform basic data entry related to orders, material identification, and production tracking. Comfort working in a noisy, industrial warehouse environment. Strong attention to detail when verifying measurements, material specifications, and documentation. Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work area. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience operating a slitter machine. Experience with general production, packing, and packaging tasks. Familiarity with operating simple production tools and equipment such as automatic banders, core cutting machines, shrink wrappers, nail guns, and circular saws. Ability to work overtime as needed to support production demands. Strong reliability and adherence to attendance policies. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ann Arbor, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
