Mold Setup Technician - Weekend Shift Gill Staffing Grand Rapids, MI Job Details Full-time $28 - $30 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Teamwork Forklift High school diploma or GED Manufacturing facility RF scanner Full Job Description We are currently seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Mold Change Technician to a local automotive manufacturer's molding operations. This position is responsible for removing and replacing molds in injection presses, setting up equipment, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring production runs safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Shift; Saturday - Monday 7am-7pm Essential Duties & Responsibilities Remove and replace molds in injection molding presses Set up, adjust, and change over molds and support equipment Input and update machine/computer programs as needed Ensure equipment and work cells are functioning properly before production release Complete mold setup sheets and required production reports Operate processing equipment and forklifts (Hilo) safely and efficiently Maintain machine cleanliness and organized work areas Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE Report unsafe conditions immediately Assist with troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts Support additional production needs and assignments as required Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Good communication and teamwork skills Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks accurately Ability to work in a manufacturing environment safely and efficiently Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and off-shifts as needed Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred 3-6 months of related manufacturing or setup experience preferred Injection molding or machine setup experience is a plus Skills & Abilities Basic math and problem-solving skills Ability to complete paperwork and production documentation Experience using handheld scanners and RF scanning systems Ability to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions under supervisor direction Certifications Forklift (Hilo) certification preferred Physical Requirements Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout shift Regular lifting up to 20 lbs Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, and stoop as needed Work Environment This position works primarily in a manufacturing environment where PPE is required, including: Safety glasses Steel-toed shoes Hearing protection Sleeves and gloves Orange safety vest while operating a Hilo Why Join Us?
