Job Description

This position is responsible for starting up and maintaining the injection presses. Develop processes that produce product at the most efficient manner and to assure quality of parts coming from the processes. This position is located in Wixom, MI and you will report to the Senior Process Technician. Main Responsibilities Retrieve the list of molds from File Maker to run for the day. Keep efficiency of all injection presses at or above 80%. Investigate root cause of severe process shifts and taking appropriate corrective action to bring process back within specifications. Start-up of jobs as required in a timely manner. Arrive 1 hour before shift to start required presses for the day and to discuss possible issues with previous shift's Process Technician. Implement lean manufacturing methods. Troubleshoot and evaluate injection molding and assembly processes and make the necessary adjustments to ensure prescribed quality and production standards are achieved and maintained. Injection molding set-up, processing, identifying process issues. Ensure all paperwork is completed, providing timely, detailed information in end of shift note to other supervisors, managers and departments. Manage File Maker so it reflects what tools are staged, completed, and always running. Adhere to all company policies and procedures (i.e., quality policy manual, employee handbook, lock out/Tag out, etc.). Comply with all internal and OSHA required safety procedures. Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all areas of the facility. Your profile 5-10 years-experience in Injection Molding Processing High School graduate with RJG Verifiable Certification of Master Molder, Ferris State Course Work [injection molding will be considered in place of 5-10 years hands on experience]. Experience with hydraulic cores, slides, horn pins, and hot drops. Experience mixing and drying material. Knowledge of splay, pin push, burns, shorts, gas traps, and other processing issues. Employee must have a valid driver's license. Employee must have completed and passed a Hi-Lo driver's training class and passed a written test to be administered by the Shipping department manager.
