Job Description

JOB TITLE
2nd Shift Lead
EXEMPT STATUS
Hourly - Non-Exempt
POSITION PURPOSE
Oversee and manage all activities on the second shift in compliance with Taurus Engineering policies and procedures. Perform setups, lead the team, ensure quality control, monitor safety, and maintain operational efficiency to meet production goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assign tasks to press operators and production staff to meet shift goals Perform tool setups, changeovers, startups, and adjust machines to keep the floor running smoothly Conduct visual checks as needed and adjust machine parameters to ensure quality Ensure raw materials are available (fill hoppers, load dryers) and manage inventory for the shift Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines Coordinate operator breaks and adjust staffing levels as needed Train new employees and provide ongoing support to enhance skills Track production metrics, prepare shift reports, and communicate results to management Address machine issues, quality concerns, and employee performance challenges Able to operate a forklift Perform additional tasks as needed to support production Follow basic safety regulations in manual Other duties as necessary
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Lift up to 75 lbs., with continuous lifting of 50 lbs. Frequent bending, stretching, and reaching; standing/walking 90% of the day. Exposure to loud working conditions and extreme temperatures.

Manufacturing Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
HS diploma or equivalent
Related Experience:
1+ years in plastic injection molding (machine setups, troubleshooting, quality control). Previous leadership experience preferred
JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED
Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain). Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to follow directions, maintain excellent attendance, and work effectively with a team.
Job Type:

$22.00 - $30.00 per hour
