Job Summary We are seeking a motivated Molding Process Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining various molding equipment to ensure high-quality production of food packaging products. Your expertise will help optimize processes, uphold safety standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
SUMMARY:
The Molding Process Technician tends to several injection molding machines and industrial robots to mold plastic components to specifications. This position requires the ability to plan and perform a sequence of operations while making major decisions involving the running or stopping of molds and machines. This position also supports the training of new Molding Process Technician Trainees in injection molding processing as well as assisting in the development of the trainees understanding of internal processes and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following:
- Complete daily PM checklists on assigned machines.
- Set-up machines, heater boxes, cooling systems, valve gate systems and robotics to achieve maximum operating efficiencies.
- Must be able to perform basic and complex machine recycling procedures along with following proper restarting/shutdown procedures
- Perform complex root cause analysis on production, machine, tooling and process issues
- Sets up molding processes using decoupled molding principles and developed process control limits
- Maintain quality parts by adjusting machine controls using decoupled molding principles.
- Run samples of color, material or processes as required
- Monitors machine parameters on Mattec system to ensure process compliance
- Drive forklift in/out of doors to move material, production and molds as needed
- Enter production data in computer and analyze data.
- Fill out charts and other reports and generate checklists.
- Perform Molding Associate duties during 1st article inspection process
- Must be able to use some adjustable measuring instruments such as micrometers and various gauges.
- Must know molding of various plastic materials as well as hydraulic, electrical/PLC's and mechanical maintenance.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor/lead
- Must follow all work rules and policies.

EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in maintenance, manufacturing, or mechanical systems preferred 1-3 years of experience in assembly, maintenance, or related mechanical/technical roles Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production or assembly equipment Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work instructions Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and in a team environment Willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment and processes
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
