POSITION SUMMARY
The Tube Mill Operator is responsible to operate equipment in a Tube Production Cell, such as Tube Mills, Tube Swagers, Tube Corrugators, Spot Welder and measuring instruments to complete corrugated steel connectors for water and gas. This position will also conduct tests and measurements, log test and measurement results in computer, weight materials, fill reports and perform basic autonomous maintenance activities.PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates production machines, machine tools and equipment used to roll, weld, cut, swage and corrugate steel tubes per specifications. Set and adjust machine parameters. Monitors and logs raw material and Tube's dimensions, quality of weld and shape according to specifications and quality control plan Places coils of steel strips in the Tube Mill machine and guides it through the Tube Mill Machine. Spot Welds steel strips every new coil. Changes electrodes. Moves tubes from Tube Mill to Swager and to Corrugator. Feeds and retrieves tubes in swager and corrugator Fills history cards, production and quality reports and hour by hour board Places corrugated tubes in tubs ensuring that they are identified correctly Apply clearly prescribed standard practice, using several procedures with some decisions. Communicates with other operators, team leads, supervisors, maintenance technicians and engineers, quality inspectors and engineers Performs cleaning, inspection and lubrication tasks in the machines under their assignment Keeps the work area clean and organized following 5S discipline Other duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate, monitor, and adjust production equipment Proficiency in basic math and precision measurement using calipers and micrometers Ability to inspect product quality and identify dimensional or weld defects Familiarity with machine control panels and basic computer applications Basic understanding of welding processes Ability to accurately document production and quality dataPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 2+ years' experience operating industrial or manufacturing equipment Technical or trade school training in Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Systems, Welding, or a related field Demonstrated ability to independently set up, monitor, and adjust production machines Proficient in precision measurement and quality verification using calipers and micrometers Working knowledge of welding processes and ability to identify basic weld quality issues Spot welding experience Experience documenting production, quality checks, and process data accurately Comfortable navigating machine control panels, and basic computer systemsCOMPETENCIES
Ability to safely operate and monitor industrial manufacturing equipment Mechanical aptitude to set, adjust, and troubleshoot basic machine parameters Ability to inspect product quality and identify dimensional or weld defects Accurate documentation of production and quality data Strong attention to detail and adherence to standard work Dependable, team‑oriented, adaptable, and eager to learn new processesWORKING CONDITIONS
Manufacturing plant setting with exposure to noise, dust, heat, and moving machinery. Standing, walking, and climbing for extended periods. Lifting or moving equipment and parts up to 50lbs. 1stShift Hiring Range:
