JOB SUMMARY
The Mold Technician sets up, operates, and maintains rubber molding presses (compression, injection, or transfer) to produce rubber products. Key duties include performing mold changes/setup, troubleshooting, conducting in-process inspections to meet quality standards, and conducting preventative maintenance to ensure efficient, safe production, often in high-heat environments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Must follow the 4 Cornerstones of Manufacturing Safety- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies regarding workplace safety. Have an understanding of the equipment in the Molding area. Follow guidelines on the Job Hazard Assessment. Wear appropriate PPE is worn at all times on the plant floor. Follow safety procedures. Quality- Follow all established quality requirements including set-up verification and verification that all processes are producing product according to quality requirements. Verify set-up is done correctly by completing a checklist for each run. Visually inspect parts and use measuring tools (calipers, gauges) to check for defects, flash, or dimensional errors. Perform QC checks as specified on the process log. Respond immediately to quality issues (internal and in process rejections). Identify root causes and ensure timely corrective actions are established for items produced on your team. Document mold changes and machine adjustments. Problem solving to ensure consistent quality parts an maximum production efficiency. Productivity- Assure all processes are running at standard and production rates are being achieved in a timely manner. Troubleshoot issues with equipment and make necessary adjustments, helping to ensure production is completed on time Set up, adjust, and start molding machines based on work orders. Understand the mold process "Sequence of Operation" Load compounds, preforms, or raw material into molds and operate press equipment. Monitor heat, pressure, and cycle times to ensure consistency. Collaborate with engineering and quality as needed. On-time-delivery- Assure all scheduled items are completed as required by production schedule while maintaining all safety, quality and productivity requirements. Conduct preventive maintenance and inspection of molds and machines, repairing as needed to ensure on-time-delivery is not effected. Strive to meet the production time/quantities specified on the router. • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent Ability to work with hand tools, read work orders and understand safety procedures. Good communication skills Ability to work independently as well as with a team. Strong problem-solving skills and understands basic mechanical principles. Ability to work with complex machinery. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and techniques is highly desirable. Must be physically fit and able to stand and move throughout the plant. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must have reliable transportation to report on-site daily. Must be adaptable to seasonal weather changes and occasionally deal with high temperature. Basic computer skills
Pay:
$19.00 - $25.00 per hour
