This position is responsible for polishing mold components to controlled specifications while maintaining high quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, good print-reading skills, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Responsibilities Follow all shop safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to department managers Read and interpret engineering drawings, control plans, and verbal instructions Select proper polishing equipment, compounds, and finishing conditions required for each job Use measuring and inspection devices to verify work-piece requirements Report non-conformances to department management for review and correction Maintain personal tools in proper working condition and comply with calibration requirements Keep work areas clean and organized, including wiping down equipment and returning fixtures and tools to designated locations Continuously work to improve personal skills and department productivity Work closely with Mold Makers and other departments to support production goals Required Skills & Qualifications Good blueprint and print-reading skills Mechanical comprehension and attention to detail Basic understanding of the injection molding process and mold function Basic machining knowledge and shop experience preferred Ability to lift and handle heavy mold components and blocks Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment Positive attitude and willingness to learn Physical Requirements This position regularly requires: Lifting and moving objects and mold components Hand and arm steadiness, finger dexterity, and repetitive hand motions Close visual inspection of small details and surface finishes Ability to communicate clearly and follow verbal instructions Performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift Work Environment & Physical Demands Light work involving frequent movement of materials and components Frequent use of polishing equipment and inspection tools Close visual acuity required for inspecting small defects, measuring parts, and performing precision finishing work Why Join Us?
