Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintaining and operating vacuum casting furnace as required to produce quality castings. Must perform all routine furnace maintenance functions. Meet the specific requirements of the efficiency standards as established. Record all work performed and all necessary information on logs as prescribed on Standard Operating Procedure Requirements (SOP). Performs support functions in the casting department. These functions include basic metal prep, such as cutting and grinding, cleaning mold chambers, assisting in prepping the mods at the furnaces prior to cast, assisting in burnouts, preparing baffles, making baffle changes, and setting up molds inside the furnace. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors. Keep work area in a clean, orderly, and safe working condition and follow all safety rules. All training requirements must be met to be deemed a fully trained Vacuum Cast Technician I. Comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures. Perform all other duties assigned by supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS
Mechanical aptitude a must. Previous foundry experience a plus. Must be able to demonstrate good communication skills. Teamwork essential. Maintenance experience beneficial. Must have recent Foundry Utility certification. No Attendance warnings within the last year. No written Quality warnings within the last year. Demonstrate proficiency of applicable procedure instructions.
REQUIREMENTS
Meet or exceed defined Visual Acuity (when required). Meet color perception standards needed in performance of job requirements (when required). Additional training to comply with applicable SOP/Certifications (when required). Must be willing to work on an off workweek. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder).
