Job Description

About the Role We are looking for a skilled Manual Machinist specializing in Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) operations to join our heavy-duty repair and manufacturing facility. You will play a critical role in restoring industrial mechanical components to OEM specifications, ensuring that every part meets rigorous quality standards through expert manual machining techniques. Responsibilities Execute complex machining operations using manual Vertical Turning Lathes to achieve high-precision results. Interpret intricate technical blueprints and engineering drawings to guide the repair and fabrication process. Deliver high-quality finished components by maintaining strict tolerances during the turning and boring process. Perform comprehensive quality inspections using advanced hand metrology tools to verify dimensional accuracy. Collaborate with the maintenance and repair team to expedite the refurbishment of industrial valves and mechanical assemblies. Proactively troubleshoot machining challenges to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency. Uphold a high standard of shop safety and organization to ensure a productive working environment. Qualifications Required Skills Proven expertise in operating manual VTL equipment. Demonstrated ability to work with tight tolerances in a precision machining environment. Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and machining schematics. Solid mechanical aptitude with a focus on problem-solving and technical troubleshooting. High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred Skills Experience with various hand metrology tools and precision measurement devices. Background in the repair or refurbishment of industrial valves and mechanical equipment. Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent output quality.
