About Century Industries Century Industries is an Oklahoma-based steel processing, tool and die, and plastics manufacturing company in the middle of rapid expansion. We specialize in precision production, tooling, and prototyping for a variety of industries — and we're building a team to match our ambitions. We're growing our Plastics Department and looking for a skilled Injection Molding Technician who takes pride in process discipline, problem-solving, and delivering repeatable, high-quality results at scale. What You'll Do As the Plastics Injection Molding Technician, you will set up, optimize, and maintain injection molding processes to produce high-quality plastic components at scale. This role combines hands-on technical execution with process control discipline — focused on cycle time reduction, defect elimination, and repeatable production performance.
Machine Setup & Processing:
Perform mold setups, startups, and shutdowns across a range of injection molding machines Establish and document process parameters including temps, pressures, speeds, cooling, and pack/hold profiles Apply scientific/decoupled molding techniques to ensure consistency and repeatability Validate new jobs and support mold trials, first articles, and production launchesProcess Optimization:
Reduce cycle times while maintaining part integrity and dimensional stability Identify and eliminate defects including splay, burn marks, short shots, warpage, sink, and flash Optimize gating, venting, and cooling strategies in collaboration with engineering Monitor and adjust processes using data-driven methods including SPC, DOE, and shot monitoring systemsTroubleshooting & Continuous Improvement:
Diagnose process, tooling, and material issues in real time Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Support continuous improvement initiatives targeting scrap reduction and OEE improvementTooling & Equipment:
Assist with mold maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs Ensure proper installation of EOAT (end-of-arm tooling), hot runners, and auxiliary equipment Coordinate with maintenance for machine reliability and uptimeQuality & Documentation:
Maintain process sheets, setup documentation, and parameter logs Work closely with Quality to meet customer specifications and tolerances Support audits and ensure compliance with internal SOPs and customer requirementsSafety & Housekeeping:
Follow all safety protocols for high-tonnage presses and auxiliary equipment Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work areaWhat We're Looking For Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of hands-on injection molding experience Strong understanding of molding defects and corrective actions Experience with machine setup, parameter development, and process troubleshooting Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience with scientific/decoupled molding (RJG or equivalent training a plus) Familiarity with materials such as HDPE, ABS, ASA, PP, and engineered resins Exposure to automation including robots and EOAT in high-volume production environments Knowledge of SPC, process monitoring systems, or Moldflow analysis Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Technical problem-solving under production pressure Process discipline and strong attention to detail Ability to apply scientific molding principles to real-world production challenges Data-driven decision-making using SPC, DOE, and process monitoring tools Strong communication and collaboration across production, engineering, and quality teams Ownership mindset with a focus on throughput, efficiency, and continuous improvement Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods during production shifts Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of materials and molded parts Exposure to industrial production environments including machinery, noise, and material dust Required use ofPPE:
