Job Description

Foundry Furnace Operator
  • 3rd Shift Franklin Precision Castings | Franklin, PA Are you looking for a hands-on manufacturing career where you can work with molten metals, advanced foundry equipment, and a skilled production team?
Franklin Precision Castings is seeking a dependable and motivated Foundry Furnace Operator to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in the investment casting process by operating melting furnaces, supporting metal pouring operations, and assisting with dewax activities that transform raw materials into precision cast components used across demanding industries.
Schedule Regular Shift:
Sunday
  • Thursday | 9:00 PM
  • 5:00 AM Training Period (3-4 Weeks): Monday
  • Friday | 5:00 AM
  • 1:00 PM What You'll Do Operate induction, combustion, and aluminum melting furnaces.
Charge furnaces with appropriate metal alloys and bring materials to required pouring temperatures. Support pouring operations involving stainless steel, nickel, brass, and specialty alloys. Assist with dewax furnace operations used to remove wax from investment casting molds. Inspect molds for cracks or defects and perform basic repairs as needed. Monitor digital temperature controls and heat analysis equipment. Maintain quality standards throughout the melting and pouring process. Perform housekeeping and continuous cleaning of work areas and equipment. Work safely in a team-oriented foundry environment. Qualifications Manufacturing or foundry experience preferred. Ability to work in high-temperature environments. Experience with melting, pouring, or furnace operations is a plus. Knowledge of combustion furnaces, heat analysis equipment, and Rockwell hardness testing is beneficial. Ability to lift materials safely and follow proper lifting procedures.
