Printpack is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Slitter Operator for the Converting plant in Grand Prairie, TX. The Slitter Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, setup, and maintenance of slitting equipment while ensuring quality production standards are met or exceeded. This position requires technical expertise in machine operation, quality control, and safety procedures. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality standards and safety protocols. This will be 12-hr night shift opening on a 3/2 rotating schedule from 7pm-7am: Sun/Wed/Thurs; Mon/Tues/Fri/Sat.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and monitor slitting equipment to meet production goals while maintaining safety standards and quality specifications Execute efficient job changeovers and ensure safe handling of slit rolls/materials according to procedures Perform regular quality control inspections and maintain proper material segregation/labeling Monitor and adjust machine settings to maintain optimal performance and product consistency Input and track accurate production data in PRISM system, including waste, WIP, time codes, and raw materials Identify and report quality issues promptly, implementing corrective actions as needed Participate in preventative maintenance activities and basic troubleshooting of equipment Meet or exceed plant EFM (Equipment and Factory Management) goals Maintain clean and organized work area, following proper housekeeping procedures Communicate effectively with team members regarding mechanical issues, defective materials, and shift information Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
Previous manufacturing experience a plus Demonstrated stable work history required

Strong mechanical aptitude Attention to detail and quality control Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities Ability to read and interpret technical specifications Basic computer skills Ability to work independently Ability to read and use measuring tools Strong communication and teamwork skills Basic mathematical skills Time management and organizational abilities
