Position Summary:
The Furnace Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining industrial kettle furnaces used to melt, heat, and process metals or other materials in a manufacturing or warehouse production environment. This role ensures materials are processed according to quality standards, production schedules, and safety regulations while maintaining efficient furnace operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate kettle furnaces and related equipment to melt, heat, or process materials according to production specifications. Load raw materials, scrap metal, alloys, or other products into furnaces using appropriate tools and equipment. Monitor furnace temperatures, pressure gauges, and control systems to ensure optimal operating conditions. Inspect molten materials and finished products for quality and compliance with specifications. Remove slag, impurities, and waste materials from furnace operations as required. Record production data, temperatures, material usage, and operational information in logs or computer systems. Communicate production issues, equipment concerns, and safety hazards to supervisors.
