Role:
Finishers are responsible for the detail and final completion of architectural precast wall panels. They ensure all pieces of precast concrete are visually, physically, and structurally sound, meeting quality expectations and putting safety before all else. They are responsible for general manual labor tasks that include sand blasting, pressure washing, water washing, acid washing, and patching. Finishers work in all-weather climates and relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job while meeting company safety, quality, and productivity targets. Finishers help with the stripping of the panels in the morning and setting them down in finish area. Finishers will drive truck and trailer for taking precast panels out to yard for storage. May be asked to cross train for loading and yard crew.
Key Responsibilities:
Sand Blasting:
Forcibly propelling a stream of abrasive material against pre-cast concrete under high pressure to smooth a rough surface, roughen a smooth surface, shape a surface, or remove surface contaminants.
Water Washing:
Washing the panel down with water causing the sand and cement to fall off the face exposing the stone to the surface.
Acid Washing:
Removes surface efflorescence and to open the pores before sealing. This will help the sealer to penetrate and result in a superior bond between the sealer and the surface.
Patching/Chipping:
Utilize a scraper to chip out seems, remove inserts, and use the correct patching agent to patch the wall panel.
Cleanup:
Cleanup work area and put tools and equipment away.
Qualifications:
Experience in construction, or a related industrial environment is preferred. Ability to read and follow detailed instructions or blueprints. Comfort working in outdoor environments year-round.
