The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food safety protocols, including HACCP and possess mechanical knowledge relevant to the role. As a Mixer Operator, you will be responsible to weigh and formulate spices and brines, lay out various types of meat, set up and operate equipment to mix meat products- while ensuring compliance with sanitation standards, food and safety regulations. Duties Weigh and formulate spices and brines according to product recipe specifications Follow recipes Layout, sort and identify various types of meat Visually inspect all product throughout the formulation process Set-up, change-over, operation, troubleshooting, minor preventive maintenance or tooling and break down of choppers, grinders, emulsifiers, mixers, and tumblers. Perform lock out/tag out Wash and sanitize equipment as needed Add spices/brines per product specifications Follow production schedule and documentation work performed and raw materials utilized Take and document temperatures as required Perform general labor work and other duties as assigned Comply with strict food and worker safety procedures SKILLS Previous food manufacturing experience preferred Previous experience following recipes along with an interest in food processing/cooking preferred Must be mechanically inclined; able to set up/take down and troubleshoot Familiarity of sanitation and food handling protocols within the food industry preferred Good verbal and written communication skills are a must Must be detail oriented and highly organized Able to count and read weights on a scale; Ability to take/read temperatures Good manual dexterity Must be reliable and cooperative You will be on your feet for the entire shift. This is a physical position. Regular use of hands and arms. Some bending. Lifting up to 65 lbs. Pushing/pulling racks (with assistance) on wheels. All production is done within a refrigerated environment.
