The Kalrez, Qnity Manufacturing Technical Advisor supports the discrete part-making process by providing hands-on technical leadership, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement for manufacturing operations. This role partners together with operators, engineering, quality, and maintenance to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance through strong process discipline, standard work, and data-driven problem solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the operations technical process owner for assigned part-making operations (e.g., molding, finishing, etc), ensuring safe and capable execution.
- Coach and support operators during setups, changeovers, and troubleshooting; reinforce standard work, point-of-use documentation, and escalation triggers.
- Lead/participate in root cause analysis for defects, scrap, rework, and downtime (e.g., 5-Why, fishbone) and drive corrective/preventive actions with measurable results.
- Support process optimization by defining/maintaining key process parameters, tooling/fixture requirements, and inspection methods to meet print/spec requirements.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, control plans, and training/qualification materials for the assigned processes.
- Partner with Quality to support nonconformance containment, MRB disposition, and recurrence prevention; ensure gage control and measurement technique compliance.
- Coordinate daily priorities with production leadership (schedule adherence, constraints, WIP control) and support effective tier meetings and visual management.
- Provide technical support for unplanned events affecting safety, quality, or delivery; participate in after-action reviews to prevent recurrence.
- Support new product introductions and engineering changes by validating routings, tooling readiness, measurement plans, and operator training before release to production.
- Ensure production records and shift handoffs are accurate and timely (issues, actions, scrap/rework, downtime codes) to enable effective follow-up and learning.
- Leverage internal networks and best practices to improve standardization, capability, and training effectiveness across the Kalrez, Qnity manufacturing area.
- Create, review, and maintain manufacturing procedures and standard work; ensure changes follow site change-control requirements.
- Partner with Manufacturing/Process Engineering to resolve chronic issues, improve capability, and deliver area goals; help onboard and train new engineers/technicians.
- Support EHS requirements, work permits/ LOTO expectations, ergonomic controls, and safe equipment operation for machining/finishing/assembly activities. Qualifications

- Ability to use basic computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for everyday tasks Preferred Education & Experience
- Experience in discrete manufacturing part-making processes and the associated inspection/measurement methods.
- Typically, 5-10+ years of manufacturing experience (operator/technician/lead) with demonstrated troubleshooting and continuous improvement results.
