Production Shift Manager

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Production Shift Manager to lead manufacturing operations during assigned shifts. This role is vital in ensuring production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely while maintaining high standards of quality. As a key leader on the production floor, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize resource utilization, and foster a collaborative team environment. Your expertise in manufacturing management and supply chain systems will be instrumental in achieving operational excellence and meeting production targets. Responsibilities Oversee daily manufacturing activities during your shift, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols. Coordinate with planning teams to execute production plans using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems such as SAP and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) tools to optimize inventory levels and material flow. Lead and motivate production teams, providing clear direction, training, and support to maximize productivity and engagement. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality control, waste reduction, and safety metrics; implement corrective actions as needed. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing processes, identifying bottlenecks, and applying lean manufacturing principles to enhance overall plant performance. Collaborate with supply chain management to ensure timely procurement of materials and efficient distribution of finished goods. Conduct regular plant inspections focusing on mechanical systems, process workflows, and safety compliance; coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime. Facilitate communication across departments to ensure seamless operations and resolve issues promptly. Skills Strong background in production management within manufacturing environments with a focus on lean manufacturing principles. Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms for production planning and supply chain analytics. Deep understanding of supply chain management, including inventory control, logistics coordination, and process optimization. Mechanical knowledge sufficient to troubleshoot equipment issues and collaborate with maintenance teams for process improvements. Experience with process improvement methodologies like Six Sigma or Kaizen to enhance operational efficiency. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively in a fast-paced setting. Knowledge of quality control standards and practices to uphold product integrity throughout the manufacturing process.
