This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
The Role:
The Boeing Company is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Experienced Chemical Process Specialist to join the team in Wichita, KS. This specialist will support the development, optimization, and execution of chemical manufacturing processes. In this role, you will apply technical expertise to ensure processes operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and brings a continuous improvement mindset to process performance and operational excellence.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops and deploys process safety information and command medi a Analyzes chemical processing metrics and information, recommends and implements improvements to critical chemical processing operation s Provides technical and regulatory information to cross functional teams and presents proposed design/build solution s Coordinates, develops and delivers training programs that address chemical process managemen t Participates in incident investigations and root cause analyse s Develops plans for scheduled and unscheduled process interruptions with cross functional team s Leads and participates in hazard analyses and risk assessments, develops safeguards and provides team recommendation s Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical disciplin e 3+ years of experience supporting chemical manufacturing or processing operation s Experience with chemical process principles, process controls, and material handlin g Experience with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOPs, GMP, OSHA, environmental standards ) Capability to analyze process data, identify trends, and recommend improvement s Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmen t Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience with process optimization, troubleshooting, or scale-up activitie s Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar ) Experience supporting audits, deviations, or root cause investigation s Experience in a regulated manufacturing environmen t Proficiency with process documentation and technical reportin g Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detai l Effective written and verbal communication skill s
